Nguyen Thi Xuan Trinh
Trinh advises on a broad range of direct and indirect foreign investment in
Vietnam, as well as corporate, employment, litigation, IP, commercial and finance
issues. She has considerable experience in investment, corporate and taxation
structuring and re-structuring and has been involved in various industries including
oil & gas, construction, healthcare, food and beverage, textile, advertising,
airlines, maritime, forwarding and foreign cable television. With a strong background
in finance and banking, Trinh also acts for clients in project financing and
securities.
Trinh has worked with and built up a close relationship with various Vietnamese State authorities. She has also contributed to the Vietnam section of the “Guide to dispute resolution in Asia” published by Herbert Smith.
Some of her experience includes:
– advising a multinational company on the Vietnamese aspects of a multi-million dollar cross border asset purchase transaction in the oil & gas industry;
– advising a multinational construction company on tax structuring regarding construction of a gas-electricity-fertiliser plant in South Vietnam;
– advising a foreign airline on the merits of a labour dispute regarding termination of employment, and representing the client before the courts of Vietnam; and
– advising one of the largest US companies in sanitary products on the purchase of shares in a joint venture company, and its subsequent re-structuring and conversion into a 100% foreign invested enterprise.
